Recently renovated by Los Angeles-based designer LM Pagano, designer of choice for Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp, the penthouses reflect Pagano's self-defined style: "... pristine but tattered grace, coupled with unexpected moments that radiate this city's unique sense of time and place".

Two expansive, richly designed skyline havens top the hotel with captivating views, terraces and interiors. Wide planks of reclaimed pine gleam underfoot, with handsome rugs by Spain's studio Nanimarquina. Floor to ceiling honed slabs of Calcutta Gold marble clad oversized bathrooms and showers, paying contemporary homage to generations of Italian influence on the city's heritage. Dornbracht platinum-nickel faucets pour an elegant cascade of water into 7 CUBE soaking tubs, over which hang expansive mirrors and Swarovski chandeliers. Two Aquos flat screens and iPod jam-boxes sit within easy reach.

Muse

Overlooking the Mississippi River and the French Quarter, this penthouse and terrace with its ebony baby-grand piano beckons the restless muse within, as does a massive playpen daybed fabricated in Italian chenille by Los Angeles craftsman Gabriel Victor. A worn 6' Carrera top rests on vintage, European champagne racks, playfully alluding to a Francophile history while serving as inventive dining table / desk. In one corner, a crystal chandelier dressed in a diaphanous silk shade glows. Washed velvet, putty tone curtains over white batiste sheers hang from wrought iron rods. Parting a single set of painted bronze Fortuny velvet panels, reveals a dramatic 8' x 11' linen-covered headboard and a bed dressed with layers and layers of white bedding. A dramatically draped entrance leads to this spacious bedroom suite that includes an elegantly appointed, Calcutta Gold marble bathroom.

A wrap-around terrace is the unique focal point of this champagne and warm-white penthouse overlooking the city and aptly named "Cityscape". Stretching along Camp Street, with an expansive wall of glass doors that opens onto an extensive terrace, this space reveals arguably the most compelling views in the entire hotel. This 1 bedroom 1.5 bathroom penthouse benefits from an extravagantly sized ottoman, together with a pair of designer LM Pagano's own so called "LM Chairs" - velvet-tufted chairs-and-a-half washed in warm light by her silk clad crystal chandelier. A Pagan Cross corner console is ebonized, silver-leafed and topped with both honed Calcutta gold marble and a 42" Aquos screen television paired with Apple TV.
